What have MCWB players been doing this summer?

Jasmine Johnson: I have been having a fabulous summer working the Loras all sports camp in Dubuque, Iowa. I have met some amazing people and have had the opportunity to teach superstar kids play all kinds of sports as well as working along side my very best friend and fellow teammate Kim Coleman!

Kim Coleman: I spent my summer working at Loras All Sports Camp where i had a blast training for basketball, meeting tons of people, hanging out with Kerry Kost and of course playing with kids. I also worked at Ace Hardware and had the privilege of coaching an AAU travel team. Summer has been great, but I'm extremely excited for the season!

Kaley Corban: Today was the first day in my life that I tried a peanut butter AND JELLY sandwich! Growing up, I only ate peanut butter sandwiches cut down the middle..such a picky eater!

What have MCWB players been doing this summer?

Kristi Ragan: This summer I was selected to play in the Wyoming vs. Montana All-Star game. We beat Montana 77-67, breaking a 10-game losing streak.

Emily Siefken: Most of my summer consisted of me playing my last season of high school softball. Iowa has to be different and has summer softball instead of spring softball like every other state. I was the only senior on this year's team. We went 34-6 and were ranked 2nd in the state. This ended about 2 weeks ago, so now i'm starting to do more fun things with my summer and soaking up every moment before coming to college!

Coach Bittner: my husband & I got Advanced Open Water Scuba Diving Certified. Now we can dive down to 130 feet. I had the opportunity to dive in Curacao & Mexico this summer!

More updates to come!!

Class of 2016: Emily Watkins

1. What has been your proudest achievement so far?
Achieving such high success both academically and athletically. Being Valedictorian of my senior class was an amazing accomplishment for me, along with being a four sport athlete throughout high school.

2. What do you expect to be doing ten years from now?
Hopefully, ten years from now I will have completed school and begun the next chapters of my life. I also hope that ten years from now I will be starting a family and have a career.

3. How do you define “success?”
Success to me, is finding passion in whatever you do. Whether that passion is a career, family, sport, or study; if you find passion in this, success will surely follow.

4. How would you describe yourself to someone who did not know you?
I would describe myself as easy to get along with and fun to be around. I am hard working, and I have worked hard to get to where I am today. I am athletic, smart, and I love to make other people laugh or smile.

5. If you could talk with any one living (or deceased) person, whom would it be and why?
My sister, Liz Watkins – she is my strength and my biggest role model in life.

6. What about you is unique?
I am a hunter. I have grown up hunting deer, turkey, beer, elk, ect.

7. What do you want to get out of your college experience?
I want college to be some of the best years of my life. I hope to have a good education, continue my academic and athletic success, make life-long friends, and have some unforgettable memories.
